About the Role

As our Machine Shepherd, you'll be the ultimate equipment guru, responsible for keeping every machine up and running. You will design and fabricate custom tooling (from CNC fixtures to injection-mold dies) from scratch and raw ingenuity if necessary. You will diagnose and repair any mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electronic issue, and own the safety-and-training program that certifies our members to use the equipment confidently and responsibly through different skill levels. You should be able to work on any machine ever made at any point ever by anyone, from watches to excavation equipment to zero-gravity assemblies and ancient alien artifacts.

Machine Maintenance & Repair

• Service and repair all equipment: CNC routers/lathes, laser cutters, 3D printers, injection-molding presses, welders, presses, robots, server hardware, legacy machines, etc
• Triage, diagnose, and write up jobs; perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics
• Replace parts, retrofit or re-engineer components as needed
• Complete controller gut and swap, refurbish crashed machines
• Evaluate used machines/equipment before acquisition, and before/after renting out to offsite members

Tooling & Fixture Design

• Create CAM programs and G-code for custom CNC fixtures, jigs, and tooling
• Design injection-mold tooling (mold base layouts, gating, cooling channels) using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD/CAM tools
• Write SOPs for manufacturing processes and equipment operation

Safety & Training Program Leadership

• Write and maintain all SOPs
• Own comprehensive safety program including safety checklists and lockout/tagout procedures
• Train and certify members on safe machine operation across different skill levels
• Conduct onboarding sessions, refresher courses, and hands-on workshops
• Audit operator competency and enforce safety policies and PPE requirements

Member Support & Consultation

• Advise startups on optimal equipment selection and workflow integration for their projects
• Provide rapid "break-fix" support during critical production runs and prototyping phases
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate new machinery or automation cells
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules, maintain detailed logs of repairs and upgrades

What We're Looking For

• Ability to work on any machine ever made - from watches to excavation equipment to zero gravity assemblies
• Expert-level experience in electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical systems, and the ability to become a working expert with anything unfamiliar in a couple of weeks
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools (SolidWorks or equivalent) and G-code programming
• Experience with injection molding tooling design and manufacturing processes
• Strong leadership skills for developing and implementing safety training programs, you can manage a 5-10 person team of whatever you do
• Entrepreneurial mindset with experience supporting startups and rapid prototyping
• Software programming or systems engineering/bullshit experience is a bigly plus
• AI tool usage is a bigly plus
• Available for 25/8/366 on-call responsibilities as a founding team member

About the Role

You'll own day-to-day operations of our 75,000 sq ft manufacturing campus, driving efficiency, uptime, and growth. From floor supervision to capital projects, you keep every machine humming and every team aligned.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Incident Command and Security during incidents and emergencies
• Oversee facility maintenance, utilities, and workspace layout
• Coordinate production schedules across prototyping, short-run, and contract jobs
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (5S, lean workflows, OEE tracking)
• Manage vendor relationships for equipment, consumables, and repairs
• Mentor shift leads and crew, enforce safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing or industrial facility management
• Proven track record running 50K+ sq ft sites or multi-shift operations
• Strong familiarity with power distribution, HVAC, and industrial infrastructure
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project-management skills
• Lean/six-sigma certification a plus

About the Role

You'll own product quality, on-time delivery, and workplace safety—ensuring every build meets spec and every person goes home safe. This is the glue between engineering, production, and logistics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Incident Command and Security during incidents and emergencies
• Develop and audit QC protocols (incoming inspection, in-process checks, final acceptance)
• Oversee shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy
• Implement and maintain OSHA/EPA compliance, hazard assessments, and training
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analyses, and drive corrective actions
• Generate quality and safety metrics; report to leadership

Qualifications

• 3+ years in QC, shipping/logistics, or EHS roles within manufacturing
• Strong grasp of ISO 9001, AS9100, and relevant safety regulations
• Experience with ERP/WMS systems for tracking parts and shipments
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and effective trainer

About the Role

You'll transform CAD models into optimized CNC and automation toolpaths, ensuring our machines run at peak performance. Your code drives every cut, drill, and mill.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Incident Command during incidents
• Write and optimize G-code/CAM programs for 3- to 5-axis mills, lathes, and routers
• Develop custom scripts and macros for repetitive tasks
• Collaborate with tooling engineer to select feeds, speeds, and tooling strategies
• Troubleshoot programs on the shop floor and adjust for part deviations
• Document program revisions and maintain version control

Qualifications

• 3+ years programming CNC mills/lathes with Mastercam, Fusion360, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tool selection, and workholding
• Familiar with automation platforms (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, Siemens)
• Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Participate in team on-call rotation, coordinate with Incident Command and Security during incidents and emergencies
• Greet visitors and manage front-desk operations (phones, mail, payments)
• Handle membership agreements, space reservations, and lease inquiries
• Administer hiring, onboarding, benefits, and performance reviews
• Coordinate training schedules and support events/workshops
• Maintain member databases and track occupancy metrics

Qualifications

• 2+ years in hospitality, facility reception, or HR administration
• Excellent customer-service skills and professional demeanor
• Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems and basic labor law
• Organized multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment

About the Role

You'll support our skilled machinists by loading programs, swapping tooling, and keeping chips off the floor. Three shifts, two hires each, with real growth potential.

Responsibilities

• Participate in team on-call rotation, coordinate with Incident Command during incidents
• Load/unload parts on CNC mills, lathes, routers, and tube lasers
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and gauges for basic inspections
• Maintain tooling inventory and perform routine machine cleaning
• Assist with setup, fixturing, and minor adjustments under supervision
• Follow shop safety procedures and report any issues

Qualifications

• Basic machining knowledge or related technical training
• Comfortable standing, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working around equipment
• Willingness to learn G-code basics and shop math
• Reliable attendance and strong teamwork attitude

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Participate in team on-call rotation, coordinate with Incident Command during incidents
• Plan and execute member events, workshops, and facility tours
• Manage social media, email newsletters, and local partnerships
• Create marketing collateral (videos, blogs, case studies) showcasing member projects
• Track lead gen, conversion rates, and community growth metrics
• Support sales team with presentations and demo coordination

Qualifications

• 2+ years in B2B marketing or community management, ideally in manufacturing/tech
• Strong copywriting, design sense, and basic video editing skills
• Data-driven approach to measuring campaign performance
• Outgoing, entrepreneurial spirit with passion for maker culture

About the Role

You'll safeguard our people, premises, and intellectual property—maintaining a secure yet open maker environment. Daytime coverage, zero compromises.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Incident Command during incidents and emergencies
• Patrol the facility, monitor CCTV, and manage access control systems
• Implement security protocols for visitors, members, and staff
• Respond to incidents, file reports, and coordinate with local authorities
• Conduct regular security audits and recommend improvements
• Oversee day-shift security staff and contractors

Qualifications

• Trained and experienced gunfighter, down to shoothouse anytime
• Experienced radio systems administrator and disaster response operator
• 3+ years in corporate or industrial security, with access-control expertise
• Familiarity with alarm systems, CCTV, and badge-entry platforms
• Strong communication skills and decisive problem-solving
• Valid security license or certification per Arizona regulations
